MFD is dedicated to enhancing the lives of the thousands of adults with disabilities in the Omaha metro area by supporting programs that offer them recreational and social opportunities. Besides offering fun, the programs we support are therapeutic, improving the physical, cognitive, social and emotional functioning of disabled adults. The programs also promote inclusion of an often marginalized population and provide hours of much-needed respite for families and caregivers.
MFD is dedicated to helping individuals with developmental disabilities by awarding grants to social and recreational programs offered through the University of Nebraska Medical Center's renowned Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) in Omaha and in partnership with The Next Chapter Book Club, DoSpace, HETRA and Gotta Be Me.
I am grateful for this program that has offered so much to Kate's life and given her opportunities that she would otherwise not have had. She is currently in the Bike Club, and also attends the Thursday Night Adult group for swimming, arts and crafts, and her favorite music and dancing. She has her own social life with her peers, and that is a gift. The staff is exceptional. We are blessed to have MMI in Kate's life. Julie - mother of Kate
