At any time, any of us may need help, whether temporary or permanent, to continue living independently, on our own, making our own decisions. About one in five Americans experience disability, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. That's nearly 57 million people.

The League is here to help remove barriers and help people with disabilities achieve and maintain their independence. We all have the right to expect equal opportunity to live, work and play in our community; to access benefits, services, resources and facilities; and to contribute freely according to our potential. We should never be forced to live in institutions.

Each donation you make to the League during Omaha Gives! is an investment in your community and will be used right here in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area to provide help to your friends, loved ones and neighbors who need it in order to live independently. Since 1971, we have been committed to providing quality services that aid and make possible the independent living of our consumers - and with your help we will continue to do so.
