Council Bluffs Community Education Foundation
The Council Bluffs Schools Foundation was founded in 1991 on the premise of opening Kids & Company, the before and after school program located in the Council Bluffs Schools. Since that time the organization has expanded to include the Council Bluffs Alumni & Friends Network, the STARS Scholarship Program sponsored by the Iowa West Foundation, and additional programming to support the Council Bluffs Schools.
The Community Education Foundation Board of Directors will be matching funds raised through the 2018 Omaha Gives campaign up to $1,000. Funds raised through Omaha Gives! this year will support the Early College Academy, providing critical financial support for high school juniors and seniors who are enrolled full time at Iowa Western Community College, and plan to graduate high school with an Associate's degree, Diploma, or Certificate.
The Iowa West Foundation has generously provided $20,000 in Challenge Funds to be shared by participating nonprofits it recognizes as being based in or providing services in Pottawattamie County five days per week or more and meeting their funding criteria. These funds will be distributed based on donations coming from Pottawattamie County.
