Beyond school, every young person we serve must spend time giving back to their community, peers, or volunteer. MT JAVA's after school weekly sessions are designed to provide a stimulating learning environment that promotes problem-solving and a greater awareness of self and society. Carefully matched mentors will complement after school activities that combine academic fundamentals and civic/social leadership skill building.
Founded on these three pillars; Civic Responsibility through Academic Achievements while growing Personal Accountability MTJAVA youth have participated in more than 2400 hours for a positive economic impact of more than $60,000 in just 18 months. More importantly, students in MTJAVA for two or more years are successfully graduating at 100% and pursuing post high school education at more than 90%
Civic Responsibility - I am part of my community and it should be a
reflection of me

Academic Achievement - I will always do my best to excel in all academic
endeavors, be they in a class room or in other learning environments.

Personal Responsibility - I will use my successes AND failures to help me
grow into a responsible, caring, and courageous adult who is able to excel
when faced with challenges.
"Thank you Mr. Moore. I didn't believe you were for real. You said MTJAVA could probably help DeDe but it has helped us grow closer and she goes to school. She even helps out at home" - Tracy J.

"Antiono Moore (Director) volunteered to lecture with a group of second year medical students at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.... He was an inspiring and motivating speaker, mostly because of his absolute belief in the ability of Mt Java students to achieve their goals" - Dr. Martha H. Goedert
