Bethany Heights was established in 1991 to meet the needs and desires of individuals capable of living independently in apartments, but in a community-like setting. Social Activities, Transportation, Meals and Light Housekeeping are provided to individuals residing at Bethany Heights.
In 2008, Bethany Heights became certified as an Assisted Living Facility. Bethany Heights offers a full line of housing options and services designed to meet the needs of an ever-changing older population. All of the apartments are certified for Assisted Living, though an individual can live totally independent without additional services. Nursing care is available 24/7 with six levels of care offered. As a resident's needs increase, they continue to remain in their same apartment until their needs exceed what we can provide. In addition, a couple can remain together when one needs services and the other does not, or the level of care varies as provided in the Assisted Living Guidelines. All Tenants receive an Emergency Response Pendent that when pushed, sends a signal directly to the Nursing Staff at Bethany Heights for any emergencies.
Bethany Lutheran Home and Bethany Heights employ over 215 full and part-time staff and have been a leader in the community for many years. For the past six years, Bethany Lutheran Home has been voted by the local newspaper, the Daily Nonpareil's "Reader's Choice Best Nursing Home" and Bethany Heights has been voted in the top 3 "Best Retirement Community" by readers and the community. Bethany Lutheran Home and Bethany Heights are overseen by a 9 member volunteer Board of Directors, representing our sponsoring congregations throughout southwest Iowa.
