NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI Nebraska provides statewide support to individuals with mental illness and their families and friends. We also educate the public about mental illness using literature, speaking engagements, videos, workshops, and conferences. In addition, through ongoing communication with mental health professionals and public officials, we are seeking to improve and expand mental health services. All of our services are provided free of charge.
Connection is a support group for individuals with mental illness.

Family support group is for family members, friends, and loved ones of those with mental illness.

Family to Family is a 12-week education program for family members, partners, and friends of individuals with mental illness where participants learn how to support their loved one but maintain their own well-being.

BASICS is a 6-week education program for family members, partners, and friends of children aged 7-13 who are exhibiting signs of mental illness and/or behavioral issues.

NAMICares…Steps to Success is our annual fundraising campaign. Over 600 individuals gather at Elmwood Park in Omaha to walk and raise awareness for NAMI Nebraska and mental health.

NAMI Smarts is an advocacy presentation that trains those with mental illness and their family members to take their experiences with mental illness and share them with policymakers. Participants learn how to craft their stories and how to use their stories to call, email, write, and meet with their legislators.

We reach and support over 8,000 individuals annually.
